Eczema Low Tox Balms and Lotions

Eczema is a very multi faceted condition that warrents a root cause approach if you want to move past topical steriods and bleach baths to get to long term healing. The skin is really just a reflection of what is happening in the body internally.

For many kids it’s genetics + environment + immune system + gut + nervous system ALL interacting together, which is why “just put steroid cream on it” doesn’t sit right with me, and families seeking deeper healing support deserve better.

areas to explore

Food: true allergies or sensitivities, histamine, salicylates/amines

Environment: pollen, dust mites, mould, smoke, synthetic fragrance

Gut microbiome: dysbiosis, poor microbiome diversity, leaky gut, candida, staph, low stomach acid

Constipation and poor detox pathways

Nutrient deficiencies: zinc deficiency, omega-3 deficiency, vitamin D deficiency, iron imbalance

Toxins: heavy metals, pesticides, mycotoxins, household cleaners, chlorine exposure

Stress: sleep deprivation, vital illnesses, emotional stressors, mouth breathing

Eczema is driven by a combination of skin barrier dysfunction and immune system dysregulation. While you work on the factors contributing to the eczema, symptom relief is important. Often it’s trial and error with products, to see what will work for your child (and this makes sense when there’s different drivers behind the eczema for each child).
